Kammila Naidoo is a Professor in the Department of Sociology and the Executive Dean in the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Johannesburg. She has taught gender studies and family sociology at a number of South African institutions including the University of Pretoria, the University of South Africa, and the University of Durban-Westville. Her primary research and published works are in the areas of gender, sexuality, reproduction, family and HIV/AIDS. She has been active in a number of community engagement roles within and external to universities and currently spends much of her time meditating and problem-solving as a member of a management team at the University of Johannesburg.
